Sling a Little Slong...

Last Saturday, Mother Nurture had a sale. Among other things, I got another sling. This one is in the "peanut" school of slings, which is to say it's basically a circle of fabric that you wrap around the baby like a beach hammock. It's much easier to get Iain in and out of than the blue sling, but less secure and less cuddly.

Best of all, it's black. Mmmm...black. How do I love thee? Let me count the ways: for one thing, it matches all of Iain's outfits, and it's gender neutral. For another thing, if he wants to nap, he can turn his head into the sling and get some shade for his eyeballs. He's very light sensitive, and often tries to go to sleep with his hands held over his eyes. Last, but certainly not least: black doesn't show stains or wet spots, so when Iain feels the need to drool uncontrollably (in other words, all the time), it's fine.

Also: $12. On sale plus clearance = good times.

So here's a shot of Iain in the sling, in approximately the same pose we took at Liquor Barn this morning. We needed turkey breast, ham, and fresh mozzarella. Iain enjoyed a lot of attention from shoppers and staff alike.

Mr. Cuteness! Slings always get the babe some passerby love. So nice to involve them at eye-level, you know? You both look beautiful.
