Early DC Fun

Ok, this first one is me flirting shamelessly with Audrey. Obviously, she was entranced. Simply captivated. Or perhaps she had gas. Six of one.

Enough of that, back to travel. I've been saving this picture for a while. Check out the amount of leg room available on British Airways:

Yes, that's right. A baby in his carseat has not got enough room to extend his legs. He's less than 3 feet tall.

In other news, Washington is an interesting place. For instance, this blurry, pathetically poor photo shows a shrub in Rock Creek Park. But not just any shrub. That red bit in the middle? A raspberry. That's right. Wild raspberries grow along the path in the park. We learned this while taking Iain on a bit of a nature walk (or, in his case, ride).

Also in DC, on the day before we left for England, Iain had his first experience with California Pizza Kitchen. This is the one I used to work at in Pentagon City, where I learned how to say "NO! Do it NOW because I don't have time to wait for your sorry butt! Or else!!" That's a useful skill.

Not only did Iain try pizza crust, he had a first success with crayons. He both made some marks and ate some nice, non-toxic wax. So that was a triumph all 'round.

Tomorrow, we go down to Glen Allen in order to see again the lovely folks who rescued us when the car broke. Here's hoping that the trip will look like this:
