The National Zoo, located in Woodley Park, offers a free afternoon of shade, exotic animals, and people-watching. Naturally, Iain needed to go. So he ordered up his carriage and instructed the staff to start walking.
Iain is king of his domain, much like this lion:
It was toasty, so he snapped his fingers and the staff provided a tasty beverage. No, not coffee. Water, with a little flavor from the ice. The straw was delightfully chewy.
Iain loves But Not the Hippopotamus and Hippos Go Berserk, so of course the staff took him to see the pygmy hippos. He also saw naked mole rats, but taking pictures of that was impossible. I mean, they're naked.
He also loves to read his color book, in which Orange is represented by a tiger. Rarrr! (now you crawl away and giggle - do it!) The tiger was very accomodating about having her picture taken.
Iain measured his hand against the tiger's. His was smaller. But only for now. I give it two, maybe 3 weeks and Iain will be bigger, with size 27 feet and a head that bangs the door jam. Mark my words.
Kudos to the Dad for taking such good pictures on a hot day at the zoo while wrangling Iain all alone. Nice work, the Dad.
