City Lights, Sometimes Flashing
Salt Lake City perches in a valley surrounded by mountains. As a result, parts of the city creep up the hillsides and enjoy spectacular views. Lawrence and I drove up one such hill above the University of Utah, and the view was just incredible. Taking a picture of it proved challenging, but his nifty new camera has a nighttime feature, so here you go.
Keep in mind that the hill you drive up (and down - gulp) to get there is STEEP.
Also, like most universities the U. has a large letter on the closest hillside. Unlike some of the others, the giant "U" lights up. In two colors. Red/White/Red/White. Lawrence was so struck he had to scamper out and take a picture:
But imagine, as he pointed out, the opinion of the people in that beautiful modernist house. I hope their bedroom doesn't flash red all night.

That first photo looks like what I imagine a snowy beach on the edge of the Great Salt Lake would be. So that is what I think this represents. The glistening water of the Salt Lake and the snowy beach leading in.
