I am so jealous. They don't give stickers out where I vote. I WANT MY STICKER!! :)

SHUT UP! That is awesome! There is already a 3 hour wait in lines in VA and DC. You are awesome. And *how* was it: voting against McConnell? Was it all that AND a bag a chips?

OK, there was a half-hour line by the time I voted (appx. 6:03am). They opened at 6. I was in line at 5:40, which is why I got to vote pretty quickly.

The secret to not waiting in line is: getting up before dawn, driving in the dark, and standing there while the poll workers try to finish getting everything together.

As for the sticker - that's a bonus. Like icing on my McConnell cake.

Excuse me. Gotta go. Iain's fondling his (empty) bottle. It ain't right and I have to put a stop to it.

That's fantastic, Fiona! I wish I could have been in the States today to cast my vote in person. Absentee voting is convenient but it lacks the visceral thrill of going into that little booth...

Did Charles go with you?

Just me and the Little Fellow. Charles held down the fort here, and is now upstairs working.

I, meanwhile, need a nap. I hardly slept (kept waking up: now? no. Now? No. NOW?) and got up for good at 4:53.

Adorable! Love the stickers. Ours aren't nearly that cute!

When I was carrying Fiona, as yet an unknown quantity, I stood in line for five hours to vote for McGovern in Nov 1972. (For those of you keeping a chrono, that was after the French and Indian War but before Watergate.)
Worthy enterprise in any case, and then Fiona voted with me for many elections after, wearing campaign tee shirts, handing out flyers for Jimmy Carter and pushing buttons, ulling levers etc. So this is a family tradition.
