Cartoon Milton Keynes

We love Milton Keynes. This old cartoon reminds me of it.
Excellent 1948 British cartoon: Charley in New Town

OMG! It's totally Milton Keynes. Right down to the pub in your neighborhood. And the lanes for "pram-pushers." Nice touch, that.

That was wonderful! Fiona's aunt, my half-sister, lived in Park Forest Illinois, a planned community probably from about the same era. Good stuff!

Milton Keynes misses you guys! The cartoon is great - it's easy to see the influence of that school of thought on MK. I love the 'escape from the socialist industrial nightmare of London' motif.

P.S. Tony and I just are a double-cream rice pudding from Marks an Spencer. It was yuuuuummy.

Why do I feel like the new urbanists have watched this cartoon repeatedly? LOL. And of course, there is now a preservation effort afoot to preserve all that was "new" then. But that was a fun cartoon to watch.
