But the water is rather cold. To expand a bit, yesterday, we saw each of the dogs exploring the surface of the frozen fish pond. They were each encouraged to get off of it. This afternoon, Boris, the big dog, went back onto the pond, only to find that the ice would not support him. He extricated himself without needing help, and came back inside for a toweling off. I've been waiting years to see which dog would first end up in the pond. They've both been drinking from it from time to time, but Boris wins the first in the pond prize.
