So Good

And that, friends, is the remains of a cup of sweet, milky tea. Tea with milk. What a concept.

You know how you get all turned around during holidays and when you travel? You stock up but then you use it all up and then you're down to bowls of noodles and eating that cheese that might be a little fuzzy but it smells ok? Well, it smells rotten, but isn't cheese rotten by definition? Right.

We got there. First, it was Christmas. Then New Year's. Then I went to NY. Then I was back but Charles was in California. Then he got back but it was the first week of school (a week during which I was at school every day except today). With all that back-and-forthing, we ran out of just about everything that makes life pleasant. No milk. No pita bread. No dried cranberries. No sliced turkey breast. No hoisin sauce. No Chinese dark soy. No cereal or skim milk to eat it with. No apples. No bananas. No bread. No meat. No veggies, unless you want to count that sad bit of celery. I hate celery.

When I started to run out of deodorant, though, that was really bad.

So today we descended on the grocery stores of Lexington like a swarm of locusts. Of course, the high today was around 14 degrees F, so it was perfect timing. But we got plenty of good things to keep us for a couple of weeks and to feed our friends tomorrow night and to ensure that I can have sweet, milky tea several times a day. Whew.

Thank you so much for your lovely comment at my blog! I'm thrilled to have you as part of my blogging community! On a different note, I'm sorry to hear you've had trouble posting a comment. A few weeks ago, I changed my comment option to "embedded" comment boxes, but I found that a couple of times I had trouble leaving comments on friends' blogs who use embedded comment boxes (I too use Firefox). I've been thinking about possibly changing it back since it's hard to tell how many other people are having similar problems leaving comments.

Mercy. We would have breakdowns of nuclear proportions should we be that low on food. Seriously. It would warm even your region...
