My dad writes:
"Thought you might like to see a picture of my first car.
I turned 14 on November 3, 1956.
I got my drivers license that same day.
One week later I bought my first car for $100.00.
It was a 1940 Chrysler which would have
been 16 years old when I bought it."
Ok, can we just go over some details here:
1. Getting a driver's license at 14.
2. Buying your own car, with your own money, at 14.
3. Buying a car that's 16 years old but still running.
4. Buying a car that holds 8 people - party on, Daddy.
5. Buying a car that apparently came with a hot redheaded girl.
I believe this is commonly known as: Awesome.
You should know, too, that his next car was a brand-new Mustang.
