Normally, when Iain wants me to read a book, he brings it over and whacks me with it. I pat my knees to indicate that he should climb up in my lap so I can read to him.
He doesn't actually climb up. But he knows what I want, so he crawls over, turns his back, and waits to be lifted up into my lap. Recently, he's begun to climb onto me, but he can't (yet) turn around. So he plops on my legs and wiggles until I orient him correctly.
The new trick for today is that he comes over, deposits the book, climbs on my lap, and once I sit him up properly he pats my knee. Like, "Giddyup, horsey! Read, read!"
He's learning to drive Mommy.
