It isn't red boots for the uniform-- it's black boots. What he is pining for is the big beaver hat.

Slept like a log, thank you very much. Bed at 7:20, woke at 6:45am. He probably dreamed of guarding the Queen's Jewels.
As for the hat, that's a good idea, Mrs. Grandmother-Who-Makes-Corn-Pudding-and-French-Toast-Casserole (I forget nothing). I don't think he'd even need to wear it. We could just pose it with him.
He'll still want red boots, though. Just because.
