From what they said on TV, the horse cost $9,500 - less thank 10k. Perhaps that was a misplaced decimal in the heat of the moment, but I hope it's true, because it's just plain hilarious.
I believe one of the other contenders was a horse who fetched the highest price ever at the spring sale at Keeneland. So it just goes to show that price can't guarantee anything.

amazing race. and that horse only cost like $95,000 vs some of the other $1-3 million horses in the race.
